The ball park of non-regulatory, hardware capabilities reported by `iw phy` (loaded from ART) seem to be correlated to the wireless NIC (and PA) and not tied to the exact model. The standard way to increase network coverage may be: Strengthen transmission power if possible, Add signal amplifiers at optimal points, Add an another AP or a point in the network with a mesh -like topology. ![]() And of course always obey the regulations that apply to the country of operation. Disable 2.4 GHz radios on a percentage of APs. Consider back lobe radiation of antenna when you use a wall mount. You can also set the transmit power to Auto, High, Medium, Low, or Custom. 2.4 GHz: 4 to 10 dBm Auditorium or Lecture Hall: 5 GHz: 5 to 12 dBm. The initial throughput on our client when active on a 2.4 Ghz frequency was around 30 Mbps, as shown here: When we lowered power on our 2.4 GHz channels, we observed more clients connecting to our 5 GHz channel. The exact value you find on your given router represents the absolute maximum power it can output on its antennae without ill effects. ![]()
